Speaker 1: Julie Develin, MSHRD, SHRM-SCP, GTML

Topic 1: Unstuck: Overcoming Paralysis by Analysis to Get Ahead in Payroll—and Life!

Summary:

Choose your favorite cliché: “I’ll get to it tomorrow.” “It’ll be there next week.” “I’ll just get started on Monday (or Tuesday or Wednesday).” Do you ever find yourself saying these things? Analysis paralysis, or the all too familiar act of overthinking, is not uncommon in life or business.  After all, doing things because that’s the way they have always been done is comfortable. But what are the time vampires in your company? Are there processes that you know you need to change, but you just haven’t done it? Furthermore, are your processes aligned with the experience that you want to provide to your employees, and are you meeting their expectations? This session will explore ways to become unstuck--by knowing the signs and symptoms of analysis paralysis and by following the concept of the four “Ts” to propel you forward! Payroll, HR and Everyone:-Let’s Get Things Done!

• Deepen your understanding of the impact slow or no decision making has on your

company’s business goals and elevate the role HR in decision making

• Unlock ways to look inward and hone new leadership skills to foster personal and

professional growth

• Explore the ways that HR technology is key to making decisions that impact the overall strategic plan of the organization

• Identify the barriers to progress in your HR department, and explore ways to prioritize to progress
